Individual Psychotherapy
I primarily provide individual therapy for older adults aged 60 and above, although I do work with younger adults in certain situations, such as when they serve as a care partner for a loved one with dementia. Psychotherapeutic modalities are by no means one-size-fits-all, and I tailor my treatment plan to fit the individual client’s unique characteristics, needs, preferences, and culture. Individual therapy is a collaborative rather than didactic process, and clients and I work together to identify goals of care. I am a researcher as well as a clinician, and believe strongly in the use of evidence-based interventions. My treatment plans integrate the best, most up-to-date research evidence available for treating a particular set of symptoms or disorder(s). Common treatment areas and evidence-based approaches used in my practice are listed below.
